Management Tools
Management tools documentation provides access to RouterOS administration interfaces and utilities including WinBox, WebFig, SSH, RoMON, Dude, Quick Set, FlashFig, branding options, and mobile apps for device management and customization.
SSH
RouterOS includes a built-in SSH server with customizable settings such as cipher configurations, key types, and forwarding options. It supports password and public-key authentication, with commands to export/import host keys and regenerate them. PKI authentication can be enabled by importing public keys for users.
SSH brute-force protection
Protect an internet-facing SSH service on RouterOS with firewall rules that count new connections per source address and block a source that opens too many in a short time. Covers what to do before exposing SSH, placing the rules in the default firewall, exempting trusted addresses, IPv6, checking and unblocking, and how many password guesses the rules still allow.
SSHFS
SSHFS allows mounting a folder from a remote SSH server as a local disk in RouterOS, using the sshfs type of /disk. The mount is configured with the remote address, user credentials, and path, and appears in /file like other network filesystems.
