Wireless​

  • WiFi: Wi-Fi 7 MLO parameters documented — new mld-interface and mld-name parameters enable Multi-Link Operation on Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) hardware. CAPsMAN provisioning gains multi-link-mode and supported-hw-caps. supported-bands extended with 6ghz-ax, 6ghz-be, 2ghz-be.
  • IS-IS documentation updated — corrections, additions, and improved grammar throughout the IS-IS routing protocol page.

Authentication & AAA​

  • RADIUS: RadSec behavior clarified — RADIUS server must use radsec as shared secret; RouterOS overrides both the shared secret and port to TCP 2083 when RadSec is enabled, regardless of manual settings.

Network Management​

  • SOCKS: user authentication documented — /socks/users menu is now fully documented (previously "Work in Progress"). Covers enabling password-based auth (auth-method=password) and managing credentials.
  • VRF documentation updated — VRF page significantly revised with improved structure and cross-reference links.

IP Services​

  • DNS: new parameters documented — add-dns-entries and add-dns-entries-suffix added to the DHCP and IPv6 Neighbor Discovery pages.

Mobile Networking​

  • LTE: two parameters documented — esim-channel (auto/AT control channel for eSIM) and link-recovery-timer (seconds before LTE interface reconfigures if not running). Placeholder entries for unreleased features removed.

Getting Started​

  • Getting Started section reorganized — images moved, broken links fixed, and cross-references added throughout the Getting Started section.

CLI Reference​

  • IPv4/IPv6 address and neighbor parameters added — /ip/address, /ipv6/address, /ipv6/nd, and /ipv6/pool now have full parameter descriptions in the CLI Reference.
  • Routing articles: CLI cross-reference links added — all routing documentation pages now link to corresponding CLI Reference entries.

Summary of documentation changes made on May 25, 2026.

Routing​

  • OSPF documentation split into separate pages — reorganized from one large page into focused sections: Understanding OSPF, Neighbour Relationship, Routing Calculation, and Areas & Virtual Links.
  • Policy routing guide rewritten — cleaner language and better examples throughout. A warning about routing table resolution was corrected to a tip.
  • BGP FAQ updated — additions and corrections to the BGP frequently asked questions page.
  • IS-IS page updated — small fixes and additions.
  • Moving from ROSv6 to ROSv7 guide updated — small corrections to the migration guide.

Bridging & Switching​

Wireless​

  • Wireless interface page improved — general review and cleanup of the legacy wireless interface documentation.

Authentication & AAA​

  • RADIUS: Clarified the RadSec note — with RadSec enabled, RouterOS forces both the shared secret to radsec and the port to 2083, regardless of what was configured manually.

Getting Started​

  • CHR installation: Moved the CHR installation guides (VirtualBox, VMware, Hyper-V, Vultr, and the other platform walkthroughs) out of the licensing section and into Installation and Upgrade, where the rest of the installation documentation lives.
  • RouterOS licensing: Continued the licensing restructure — reworked the overview and MikroTik hardware pages now that installation content has moved out.

Site​

  • Sidebar: Curated the documentation sidebar — section ordering and grouping were reworked, and the Wireless case studies page became a proper category with its own landing page.

Documentation updates - May 21, 2026

Summary of documentation changes made on May 21, 2026.

Bridging & Switching​

  • Bridging & Switching: Restored the illustrations across the whole Bridge topic — diagrams on the switch chip features, VLAN, QoS, CRS1xx/2xx examples, layer 2 misconfiguration, spanning tree, and wireless VLAN trunk pages now render again.
  • Switch chip features: Fixed the feature comparison table footnotes, which previously did not render. The notes on bandwidth limiting in RouterOS v7, Shared VLAN Learning on the 2048-entry host table, and limited Switch menu VLAN support now appear below the table. Several inline "Caution"/"Important" paragraphs were converted into proper admonition blocks.
  • Quality of Service: Fixed the broken footnote markers in the switch chip QoS table covering max-fill statistics, current-value reporting, and unavailable statistics on 98CX8410.
  • Marvell Prestera switch chip features: Corrected several malformed admonition blocks so the L3 hardware offloading note, the egress-rate/storm-rate hardware limitation on 10Gbps ports, and the switch ACL modification warning display correctly. Also reworded the inter-VLAN routing and DHCP server notes.

Containers​

  • Containers: Expanded the stop-signal description to explain that different Linux signals allow graceful shutdown, immediate termination, or application-specific actions, and tidied the memory-max entry.

Documentation updates - May 20, 2026

Getting Started​

  • RouterOS licensing: Restructured the licensing documentation. The x86 licensing content was merged into a single x86 licensing page instead of a separate sub-page, and the accompanying screenshots were reorganized.

Containers​

  • Containers: Documented passing the serial terminal through to a container with devices=serial0:"", including a note that the RouterOS serial console under /system/console must be freed first.

Wireless​

  • Nv2: Reorganized the protocol overview into continuous prose by removing redundant sub-headings, and tidied the synchronization and configuration example sections.
  • Spectral scan: Corrected the formatting of the range option list and downgraded the unsupported-chipset callout from a danger to a warning admonition.
