Firewall & QoS

  • Queues and CAKE: Substantially rewrote the CAKE documentation — added a beginner workflow, clarified how cake-bandwidth differs from HTB's limit-at/max-limit, explained transmit-vs-receive Interface Queue behavior, filled in several previously empty parameter descriptions, and trimmed the duplicate CAKE overview on the Queues page to link to the full guide.

Documentation updates - July 21, 2026

Summary of documentation changes made on July 21, 2026.

Getting Started

  • CHR and x86 Licensing: Documented account binding, trial expiration, and license transfer behavior for CHR and x86 licenses.

Hardware

  • Disks: Documented SED and FSTRIM limitations on USB-attached drives, clarified swap-over-container behavior, corrected the disk trim description, and added the swap max size limit.
  • RouterBOARD: Cross-referenced the new minimum-firmware and minimum-version fields shown by resource print.

Diagnostics & Monitoring

  • Resource: Documented the minimum-firmware and minimum-version fields shown by resource print.

Storage

  • Self-Encrypting Drives: Noted an FSTRIM limitation when an SED is used behind a USB bridge.
  • RAID: Documented the /disk raid-scrub-cancel command.

Containers

  • Container Apps: Documented how to select the web port used by a container app.

Documentation updates - July 20, 2026

Site

  • Documentation versioning: The current documentation was frozen as version 7.24, which is now selectable from the version dropdown. Frozen versions are excluded from search engine indexing, and site search no longer returns duplicate hits from frozen versions for pages that still exist in the current documentation.

Authentication & AAA

Wireless

  • WiFi: Clarified the Network section — a /interface/wifi/network entry without labels applies to all interfaces, and the examples are now annotated as network and radio presets. The MLO example gained a security.passphrase value.

Documentation updates - July 17, 2026

Summary of documentation changes made on July 17, 2026.

User Guides

  • PIM-SM: Reworked the configuration examples. The basic example now splits the PIM interface template from a separate igmp-interface-template for the client-facing interface, so the PIM instance learns local group memberships. The static RP example replaces the loopback bridge with the built-in lo interface and adds IGMP querier configuration for R2 and R3.
  • IGMP proxy: Removed the quick-leave configuration example.

Hardware Guides

  • hAP ax 2 and hAP ax 3: Renamed the hAP ax pages so page names match the products — the former hap-ax page is now hap-ax-3, and hap-ax-2 now holds the hAP ax 2 content. Existing bookmarks to the old hap-ax URL will need updating.
  • Wireless systems: Added product images from mikrotik.com to the LDF 5, SXT SA, and SXT SQ series pages, and to several LTE kit pages.
  • Hardware guides: WinBox download links across 176 device pages now use the mt.lv/winbox shortcut, and the default IP address 192.168.88.1 is now linked with an explicit https:// scheme.
